The meeting will update attendees on the accomplishments and specific needs of the region, as well as facilitate networking within and between southeastern states.

Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve Coastal Training Program is collaborating with University of Georgia Marine Extension Service and Sustainable Building Industry Council to hold a two-day workshop on High Performance School Buildings. Geared toward school officials, as well as architects and engineers involved with building school facilities in coastal Georgia, the workshop will introduce High-Performance School Building concepts and techniques. The workshop will also review the resource and strategy guide, building blocks, procurement and design strategies, case studies and their application to local school needs. Do you know your local crustaceans? The natural history as well as the importance of these species to the ecology and economy of the Georgia coast will be discussed.
